*Paul Schneider-Esleben (1905 – 2005) was a prestigious architect based in Düsseldorf whose success designing the Cologne Bonn Airport, lead him to international recognition as his airport layout was eventually adopted by airports worldwide. He was also a furniture designer and considered to be quite influential in the post WWII modernist architectural movement within Germany. A retrospective of his life’s work was exhibited in a 2015 retrospective in Munich. His son, Florian Schneider, was one of the founding members of ‘Kraftwerk’, a German experimental electronic music group that has found much success as pioneers for the genre.
